I haven't really had the spoons to really delve into this for a bit, Other non-art projects keeping me away from the fractal generation. I've been feeling so snowed under with work, stuff that needs doing at home, side projects too numerous to mention. A lot of times it's so overbearing it is hard to get anything done at all.
So finally just hit a wall that made me look and realize I've lost that bit of zen in my life somewhere along the way, be it with the job, or the endless list of things that need to be worked on at home. So I decided to make something with that in mind...
It was going to be a dome with maybe a tree on the inside (for reasons that my wife will find obvious) but it wasn't working out, but... I just let myself play with the piece. Something I haven't done in a good while. Reworking the transformations and just instead of refining, throwing large chunks of the piece out. (I promise you there's one there, it's just subtle, too many wild swings detracted from it) After more time then I'd like to admit, ended up with this. A bit of a chalice or a bowl with a pearl, if you will, in the center. If you squint just right, it looks like a little tiny glowing Buddah figure inside.
I'm going to call this one "Gift of the Now" based on this little pearl of wisdom that I need to keep in mind a -lot- more often.
"Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment." ~ Gautama Buddha
Enjoy.
